Better health data management, but how?

What is Heely really about and how does it help its users manage their health data

If long term success is the goal, full picture is a must

No matter if we talk about professional sports, military or for example occupational health, the same challenge exists. People's health data is always scattered in various databases, and it is difficult to get an overview of a person's health. Why is this an issue? Well, for example historical health has an impact on all of us. Not to mention family health history that is built in us. No matter if we want to be Usain Bolt or Chuck Norris, we are always bound by our history. As many people know, Bolt actually was born with a curvature in his spine and this led to injuries later in his career. However this did not prevent him from becoming the fastest man on the planet. Understanding a person's full condition, including the past, enables better care and preventive measures which always supports better success or better overall condition.

How does Heely support this?

Unlike other health platforms, Heely is based on clinical data that includes historical information and current health. This makes the overall analysis deeper and more detailed when compared to other platforms on the market. In addition, Heely includes several ways to collect and enrich this baseline data to show the full picture of a person.

Heely consist of:

  • Health inspection process
  • Quick health inputs
  • Tests and in-depth analyses
  • Own templates

Health inspection process

Heely comes with a health inspection process that covers more than 90% of the risks reviewed when doing a health inspection. The process is designed by professional physicians with wide experience from different areas. It is also in line with the requirements set by UEFA, FIFA, International Ice hockey Federation as well as the International Olympic Committee. The health inspection process has a wide musculoskeletal section that is designed to help indicate the areas needing more focus. When most of the tools on the market focus directly on rehabilitation, we want to understand what is the person made of before starting to develop him or her into a better version of him- or herself.

The health inspection is divided into two sections:

  • Pre-evaluation questionnaire to be filled by the user
  • Clinical exam to be made by the physician

In overall, the process collects more than 200 data points of the person. It is a throughout picture of the user in order to understand his or her full potential. As an outcome of the inspection , Heely provides a summary of the key findings and important issues to consider.

Quick health inputs

Heely comes with an easy tool to make daily records of person's health. Like the name indicates, it allows quick health inputs of the person such as markings related to injuries, illnesses and other health events that are important to make a record of. Quick inputs make a nice time line on the main Health page. Events that have taken place during the past 12 months will be easily visible so that the overall picture is effortlessly available. Occurrences that have taken place more than 12 months ago are available on the History page.

The purpose of the quick health inputs is to build on the basic data which has been gathered through the health inspection. It is a diary of a person how she or he has been doing since making of the health inspection. Instead of making these records to individual tools or sheets, now there is a place where all stakeholders can do their records and they will be visible for all authorized parties at once.

Tests and in-depth analyses

Heely includes a set of tests which measure person's capabilities and performance. When health inspection focuses on structural matters i.e. how person was built and what are the challenges arising from history, tests focus more on performance and how well the person can use his/her body to perform regardless of the past events.

Test are based on sports and they include:

  • Physical tests
  • Mobility
  • Strength
  • Functionality

In addition there are in-depth questionnaires linked to the pre-evaluation questions. These focus on certain areas that may require deeper analysis in order to understand the full picture i.e. does the person has asthma. These in-depth analyses cover respiratory deceases, mental wellbeing, nutrition and training load.

Own templates

In addition to above, Heely includes a possibility to add own templates as needed. They can be used on a daily basis and the design opportunities are endless. This way teams or private clinics for example can add in their own requirements or monitoring processes that are a part of the overall analysis.

Templates can also include include performance related information such as game statistics or performance results to combine that with health data. Instead of looking always health and performance separately, they can be matched to give a full picture of the season or secondment.

Conclusion

With all the gathered data Heely can provide a 360 degree analysis on the users that is not available anywhere else. In addition, it can provide such comparisons that are not available from any other platform. All comparison data is anonymously collected and it does not jeopardize the users' privacy.
